Solar Power Backup System
We understand that comfort and convenience are an important part of your stay. The villa is equipped with modern systems designed to keep everything running smoothly, even in Zanzibar’s unique island conditions.
Power Backup System
Power cuts occur occasionally across Zanzibar. To ensure your comfort, Halisi Villas is fitted with a solar power and battery backup system.
This system activates automatically during power outages as well as during the afternoon hours.
During an outage, the system can supply power for up to 12 hours. All essential lights, sockets, fans, kitchen appliances, and the water system will continue operating normally.
To help maintain system performance, we ask that you avoid unnecessary electricity use during extended outages.
Air Conditioning & Cooling
Each bedroom and main living area has energy-efficient air conditioning for your comfort.
Please switch off the AC when leaving the villa or when windows and doors are open.
Please note: Air conditioners will not function during power backup. For cooling, you may use the ceiling fans, which remain operational on solar power.
Water System
Hot Water System
The villa features a solar water heater with an electric backup to ensure consistent hot water supply.
Please do not switch off the water heater switches.
When solar energy is unavailable (such as at night or on cloudy days), the electric backup will automatically heat the water.
If you run out of hot water temporarily, it will reheat once the system restores energy.
This setup helps us stay eco-friendly while keeping your showers warm and reliable.
Drinking Water
Safe drinking water is available from the dedicated tap next to the kitchen sink. This water is filtered, UV-treated, and purified through a reverse osmosis (RO) system — completely safe for drinking and cooking.
Please do not drink from other taps in the house. Water from bathroom taps is safe for brushing teeth and rinsing, but not for drinking.
Wi-Fi & Amenities
Wi-Fi
Halisi Villas provides 5G Wi-Fi coverage throughout the property.

For any connection issues, please contact villa management.
Wi-Fi is supported by our solar backup system, so it will remain available during power cuts (unless the service provider network is down).
Tip: For the best speed and stability, connect only the devices you need and avoid streaming large downloads during outages.
Amenities
Each villa is equipped with its own washing machine for your convenience. You are welcome to do your own washing at any time.
Please use the provided washing detergent in moderate amounts.
Avoid overloading the machine to ensure proper cleaning and drainage.
Clothes can be air-dried on the drying rack provided in your villa’s outdoor area.
